New to Acupuncture?

You’re in good hands. Acupuncture is a time-tested practice that’s been used for over 3,000 years to support the body’s natural healing processes.

At Rooted Rose, we offer both private treatments and community-style acupuncture — a peaceful, shared-space option that makes ongoing care more accessible. Whether you prefer focused one-one-one support, or the quiet rhythm of the group setting, every treatment is tailored to your unique needs.

While rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, we also draw from modern orthopaedic assessment and functional anatomy. This allows us to approach pain, tension and movement issues from multiple perspectives, with accuracy and depth.

Treatments are gentle. Acupuncture needles are hair-thin, and most people find their sessions deeply relaxing. In terms of needle sensation, you might feel a dull ache, tingling or warming sensation, but treatments should never be painful.

Come As You Are — But Eat First

Have a light snack beforehand, especially if you’re prone to dizziness or low blood sugar.

What’s Community Acupuncture?

Once or twice a week, Rooted Rose offers acupuncture in a group setting to make care more affordable and accessible. Treatments take place in a quiet shared room, where patients stay fully clothed and are treated on recliner chairs. You’ll be treated alongside others, but your care remains individualized.

For community treatments, we use a sliding scale payment system of $45–$75 for an initial treatment, and $35-$65 for return treatments. You can choose a price what works best for your budget without judgment. This model works best when people come regularly, so we encourage you to stick with a treatment plan to see results.

Masking is required in the community setting. We have extras if needed. Your acupuncturist will be masked during all sessions.

Please note: community treatments are given while patients are fully dressed, so please wear clothing that can easily roll above your knees and elbows.

Booking + Paperwork

Book anytime through online booking. Once you’ve scheduled your first session, you’ll receive a secure intake form to fill out before your appointment via your account and confirmation email.

Payment + Direct Billing

We offer direct billing for most major insurance providers (Blue Cross, Sun Life, Green Shield, etc.). Add your insurance info to your intake form so we can set it up in advance.

Payment is due at the end of treatment. Debit and cash are preferred. We do not keep cash on-site, so please bring exact change if paying with cash. Credit cards are accepted, but fees are really expensive — please be mindful.

Treatment plans

One session might help, but a series is where the transformation happens. We'll collaborate on a plan tailored to your goals — whether it’s calming flare-ups, recovering from injury, or addressing chronic patterns.

As a general rule:

Acute issues: 3–6 sessions, often weekly or twice weekly

Chronic conditions: 6+ sessions

Maintenance: Once or twice a month

Consistency builds momentum — spacing out sessions too long often stalls progress.

Cancellations + Missed Appointments

Need to reschedule? Please give at least 24 hours’ notice.

Late cancellations or no-shows will be billed:

Private sessions: Full fee

Community acupuncture: $35

Your time is reserved just for you — and missed appointments impact others waiting for care.
